Capacity
Our modern, centrally-located Little Rock complex is capable of handling 200
patients for single or concurrent Phase I-III trials in overnight, private
and semi-private extended stay quarters.
In-patient areas are separate from screening and outpatient clinics, and patient populations are separated in the case of concurrent trials. In-patients are not allowed visitors during the course of testing. All meals are catered to our facility and are easily standardized or tailored to a particular protocol.
Security
In-patient areas, laboratories, sample storage and data center are all secure and access-controlled. Study records, both electronic files and physical records, are strictly secured. All records are stored on site and are available for review at anytime.
All entries and key areas of the complex are monitored by video camera. Security is further maintained by 24-hour on-site security presence.
Location
Arkansas Research is located in mid-town Little Rock, Arkansas, within 5 miles of four major hospitals, including a trauma center and teaching hospital. Many hotels and the downtown area are nearby and the airport is just ten minutes away. (Little Rock area map) Sponsors are welcome on site for site review or to monitor a study in progress.
Pharmacy Services
Arkansas Research maintains a full-service clinical pharmacy supervised by a certified pharmacist. Pharmacy staff are trained on study drug receipt, accountability, medication preparation and dispensing. The staff is experienced in preparing and dispensing medication in various forms, such as IV admixture, compounding, preparation of oral solutions, preparation of biological study medication, dispensing of patches, and preparation of IV contrast agents.
Our pharmacy is secure with limited access and includes a separate dispensing area.

Laboratories
Our two, up-to-date laboratories have refrigerated centrifuges for collecting and processing samples. Samples are stored in one of 16 freezers, with capabilities of –20°C to –80°C storage where they are held until shipment. All safety laboratory studies are sent to a separate certified laboratory with results within 24 hours. (IATA Certified Employees for Specimen Shipments)
IRB
The Arkansas Research Human Volunteers Research Committee is available to meet within a week of receiving notice and protocol information.
